About the event
Connect with the Earth and a group of self-identified women to be held and supported as you navigate the highs and lows of your fertility journey. If you have experienced a loss or any fertility challenges, including IVF, miscarriage, or any difficulties getting and staying pregnant, this group is for you.
Forest bathing is a slow, mindfulness-based walk in nature. This two and a half hour experience will be facilitated by Certified Nature Therapy Guide Jenny Harrow-Keeler, MA. This meditative walk will provide the opportunity to both be reflective and internal as well as offer space to connect with other women who are on a similar journey.
There is power and healing in being witnessed, in being both seen and heard, not only by other women who can understand but also by Mama Earth.
Crane Creek Regional Park is a serene forest with majestic oaks, incredible wildflowers, plenty of sweet birds, and depending on the time of year, a gentle creek that navigates throughout the park.
What To Expect:
Forest Bathing is a very slow, mindful walk in nature. It is a simple yet effective way to not only manage stress but experience the beauty and wonder of nature through mindfulness. Like yoga or meditation, forest bathing can be done on your own but it is very helpful to have a guide and to experience it in a group. Especially when you are first learning this practice. This is a full sensory experience - you do not have to be experienced in meditation to join. This is appropriate for all levels - if you are brand new to mindfulness or are have been meditating for a long time.
The morning will include:
- A slow guided, mindful walk in nature
- Invitations to open all of your senses
- Group connection and sharing
- An opportunity to go within and take space for yourself
- A break from technology
- Tea ceremony and snacks
What Forest Bathing is Not:
- This is not a rigorous hike or work out. We will be moving very slowly and covering about a mile in three hours.
- Traditional talk therapy - there will be opportunities to share and be witnessed, but not in a diagnostic way.
The focus of these experiences is to support self-identified women on their fertility journey. There are not a lot of spaces for women to talk about what it's like to have any challenges when trying to conceive and this is a safe space to be witnessed on this very sacred and vulnerable journey.
